In the late 19th century, Orlando was a haven for citrus cultivation, earning its nickname “The City Beautiful” However, it wasn’t until the mid-20th century that Orlando began its meteoric rise, thanks in large part to the visionaries behind Walt Disney World. Where to Stay
A Spa, Food, and Water-Fueled Paradise
Conrad Orlando is set along the shores of Evermore Bay, a sprawling, 8-acre, crystal-clear lagoon with more than 17 gallons of shimmering crystal-blue waters. While the lagoon is not heated the pools around the lagoon are. As we arrived I walked outside and paused. It was absolutely stunning, playful and inviting. I was greeted to soft, sandy beaches, palm trees swaying just slightly, paddleboards and kayaks afloat with kids laughing and smiling in the sand, and plenty luxurious cabanas with plush daybeds and privacy curtains around the lagoon. I have always loved hotels with large pools but this was a full aquatic experience with a exquisite outside bar where couples and friends were sipping cocktails while their kids were builling sand castles nearby. The moment I stepped onto the white sand and looked out over the water, I knew I made a good choice for Hotel accommodations while in Orlando. I walked into the lagoon up to my knees and just stood there for a minute—because this is the kind of place you want to stop and soak in before doing anything else. I did not care how cold it was, I am from Michigan. Weather in the 50’s during march is dreamy.
The hotel itself is beautifully modern, full of clean lines and high-end details without ever feeling stuffy. Service is friendly, warm, and polished. Newly opened in 2024, it has a fresh, clean upscale feeling that makes you want to relax and linger everywhere.. The spa is exquisite, with hydrotherapy lounges, custom massage treatments, and relaxation areas that let you fully reset. It’s the kind of place where time slows down, and I don’t want to leave.
Free Nights:
So, How did I get here for free? Amex Hilton for Business credit card was my ticket to paradise. With a $95 yearly fee, this card pays for itself and delivers huge value. The rooms here are not cheap. The rooms were $750 – $950 a night here in March 2025. But after you spend $15,000 on your business card you get 1 free night certificate each year to any Hilton property and a second one after spending $45,000 (each year). Those 2 free nights turned into $1,500+ in value for us.
The food here is Fantastic:
Ceiba, the rooftop Mexican restaurant, offers panoramic views of the lagoon and even Magic Kingdom fireworks in the distance. I watched them while enjoying a mezcal cocktail and a plate of lamb barbacoa tacos that were so rich, melt in your mouth deliciousness. The flavors had an authentic depth to them and the chips and Gauc were a highlight. The view, the Vibe, the flavors, all top tier.
Sophia’s Trattoria is where you go for an evening under the stars, surrounded by fragrant herbs and glowing lights. The coastal Southern Italian menu is elegant but approachable. My son and I order the Bronzino for two and truly, it was one of the best whole fish presentations I have ever had. It came deboned and with crispy, lemon confit drenched skin it was delectable head to tail. The salmon crudo was fresh, spicy and packed with a citrus punch. The saffron rice as the side was worth the wait. It came to the table late, but every bite was savored by the table. Saffron can be hard to work with and can easily overpower a dish but this one was spot on.
There’s also casual dining around the lagoon, like papaya club, where you can get speciality cocktails and shareables like crab cakes or calamari.
One of the most memorable moments of the trip? Sitting in a cabana with a warm breeze on my skin, watching the sky turn orange and pink as the sun went down over Evermore Bay. The fireworks from Disney were a bonus—but honestly, the moment was already perfect.
Conrad Orlando blends spa-caliber calm, upscale dining, and playful water adventures all in one breathtaking location. Whether you’re headed to Disney or just want to indulge in a slice of luxury with family and friends, this is a must and a great way to use your free nights with Amex
Food
We had dinner last night at Twin View with my son and daughter, and overall, it was a very good experience. The atmosphere was 5-star—clean, modern, and bright, with large windows showcasing a beautiful view…
