My team and I recently dined at Hell’s Kitchen in Las Vegas, a Gordon Ramsey restaurant. We are fans of his shows Hell’s Kitchen and Masterchef. We love his fiery personality and cannot wait to experience his acclaimed menu. Food is a highlight whenever I go to Vegas. Las Vegas has some of the best restaurants and restauranteurs in the world. We were definitely pumped for our foodie adventure
This restaurant opened in 2018, and recently, Hells Kitchen added a location in DC. Its central location near Ceasars Palace is a perfect spot to meet up with a group. When you’re done with your meal, you’re at the heart of the strip, with endless options available to you post-dinner.
Service and Setting
The setting is hip, energetic, and vibrant. It is a bit noisy as it is one open room, and although it seems like a crowded room, you do not feel like you are on top of the people next to you. There were fire, pitchforks, blue and red prep stations, and in fact, a life-size video of Gordon Ramsey himself greats you as you enter. The food matched the room’s energy as diners from around the world delighted in the best offerings of this incredible chef. The room had floor-to-ceiling windows, so the Vegas strip lights kept us in sync with the city’s pulse as we dined.
The service we experienced at Hell’s Kitchen was superb as our waitress was knowledgable, friendly, and, having worked there for 12 years, acquainted with Gordon himself, who she said visits this location 3 – 4 times a year It easily deserves five stars. One example of her attentiveness was that she made personalized recommendations, for a vegetarian in our group, offering off-menu suggestions, a mushroom risotto. Our group appreciated the added extra touch of care and attention. The pace of the service was on point and although the food came out fast, we never felt rushed.
The Food
As the food started to arrive, we were blown away by the presentation and attention to detail of each course. We started with oysters that were nothing short of ethereal—sweet, briny, and plated with an elegance that set the tone for the meal. As you can see from this photo, they beckon you to indulge.
The appetizer shrimp were equally exquisite—plump, juicy, and seasoned with just the right amount of seasoning. Again, the presentation was spot on.
Then came the dishes we’d been eagerly anticipating. My foodie friend from DC went on and on about the famous Beef Wellington, often hailed as Ramsay’s signature dish, and I must admit I was a bit skeptical, but truly it was everything I hoped for. The filet was tender, wrapped in flaky pastry with a mushroom pate that accentuated the beef without detracting. I chose the special for the evening in which they added lobster, shaved truffle, and foe gras. Every bite was pure magic as all the flavors and textures paired perfectly with precision.
Can we talk about the Crispy Skin Salmon, a visually stunning dish. Cooked with perfectly crisp skin that gave way to moist, flavorful fish beneath, it was the best Salmon my coworker has ever had. It came paired with a delicate beurre blanc sauce, spaetzle and spinach.
The Lamb Rack was equally impressive—cooked perfectly to medium rare, yet maintaining a strong flavorful char. It was bursting with flavor on its own but Gordon takes you further as he pairs it with a smoky Harissa sauce giving it a Northern African flair, just to keep you on your toes.
And the Mushroom Risotto recommended by our waitress was packed with creamy, earthy, umami flavors. With a hint of truffle, it delivered a rich depth of flavor that my colleague went on and on about. She was sent to her happy place and never came back.
And then Boom! The desserts were nothing short of sensational. The Sticky Toffee Pudding—one of Ramsay’s signature creations—was both sweet and surprisingly light. It was an absolute winner.
But one dessert was a surprise in multiple ways, the Coconut Three Ways. In fact, it converted me as I am not a fan of coconut. I ordered it to put Gordon to the test. And he passed. The smoky ice and intricate coconut cup presentation elevated the dish to a whole new level. Multiple textures gave way to layers and layers of creamy coconut flavors. And when food looks beautiful, it is hard to deny the eyes or argue with beauty.
Don’t Miss Out
If you are in Vegas, I highly recommend Hells Kitchen as a must-do, go-to, dining option. You are in the heart of the strip, the vibe is electric, and the food is both visually stunning and prepared to perfection. The service is friendly, attentive, and accommodating. You will love the energy. It almost makes you feel like you are part of the show. Experiencing the fruit of all the Fiery Exchanges on the Hell’s Kitchen series. For our dining experience, no one was screaming “where is the sauce”. It was exquisite. I would definitely go back.
